Weekly Class

Ages 7+: Level 1

Level 1 is the starting point for new dancers of all ages.

Dancers solidify the foundation of their technique here. Artists of all stages and ages grow their mind-body connection and grow familiar with evergreen ideas that will accompany them through their entire journey in dance and beyond.

Age 10+: Level 2/3 + Optional Pre-Pointe

Levels 2 + 3 combine to flex and accommodate the needs of today’s evolving dance student. By utilizing progressions that “just make sense”, developing artists are able to subconsciously recall and maintain their foundation while building their movement vocabulary and exploring new modalities of artistry and expression.

Age 12+ 4Pointe

By invitation only, dancers move into a season of specially tailored strength training to season their muscle memory.

4pointe is a method researched and developed by Lynne Charles; it specifically targets and builds the strength needed to safely perform repertoire at the level and frequency expected of today’s professional dance artists.

Dancers will go through an extensive process of evaluation before beginning pointe work, and may only enroll after being approved by faculty.

Early Childhood Dance Education (ECDE)

Developed with knowledge gained from early childhood development and neuroscience, the ECDE program sets young movers up with a creative foundation that will prepare them for all they do in life-both in, and out of the dance studio.

By utilizing a Montessori-style approach to early dance education, Emily Lofton moderates class for groups of children ages 3-6 as they explore 6 basic principles:

Play is a child’s work

Prepared environment

Observation

Freedom within framework

Mutual respect

Hands-on, sensory-forward learning

By inviting a range of ages into the space to learn together, valuable principles such as teamwork, leadership, patience and problem-solving are all at play. Dancers see their peers explore skills at a wide range of stages, inspiring a desire for deeper understanding.
